After numerous new and old glories such Minecraft, portal or demiseAlso half-life has received its own mod that adds the new graphics technologies, albeit a complement unofficially. It was developed by Sultim “sultim_t” Tsyrendashiev who worked on the project for about a year to make it available GitHub.
In particular, the version adds trail race in real time to what the game is in its original version. The resolution of the textures and the models does not therefore change, but the technical area undoubtedly wins in terms of global illumination, reflections, refractions and shadows.
Of course, in order to use the mod, you must have one copy of the game as well as a graphics card that supports ray tracing functions. The developer has also provided a list of known issues on GitHub. Aside from that, Some AMD users may experience incompatibility issues with their GPU.
With NVIDIA players, however, it will also be possible to activate them DLSS to improve the frame rate. In addition, the mod can be combined with others already available for the Valve title, such as: Black Chalkboard which, although independent, has earned and still deserves the esteem of the same developer published directly to Steam.
It is undoubtedly a compelling work joining others by sultim_t including quake which, tested by Digital Foundry, was called a real remaster rather than a simple mod.
